Gateways
ROOTS & CULTURE CONTEMPORARY ART CENTER
June 14 - July 20, 2024
Years in the making, Gateways brings together recent works by Chicago-based artists Danielle Andress and Hope Wang. Firmly rooted in the slow practice of weaving, this exhibition recontextualizes ordinary images and materials through woven systems. Finding meaning through process, both artists erect various and simultaneous screenshots of daily life encapsulated in woven form, offering new perspectives as they circumvent the preexisting architectures that govern everyday life.
